Polk Area Model Society
IPMS Chapter 1130
We are an active IPMS Model Club (#1130) with close to 40 members, we meet the 4th Tuesday of each month! We encourage builders of ALL ages and skill levels to participate, and we are always looking for new members. You can leave a message on this site if you are wanting to know more about our exciting model club. We have model contests, participate in several regional shows, have HUGE swap meets, and get together now and again for a bite to eat.

There are no rules other than being polite to each member, (we meet in a church) so casual dress ok. We look forward to any members wanting to join and if you are already a member please feel free to post here!

Our club dues are $24 a year. Funds go toward everyday expenses of the club and our annual show held in June. Click here for more information about PamsCon 2026.

Monthly Themes
Here are the monthly themes as voted on by the club. The only criteria to be entered in the Modeler of the Month contest is that the model has to be finished within 2025-2026. Below is a list of our monthly themes.
January - Open (Any kit completed in 2025 & 2026)
February - Any Civilian Automobile & Nautical Theme
March - Open (Any kit completed in 2025 & 2026)
April - Real space & Sci-Fi
May - Open (Any kit completed in 2025 & 2026.)
June - Military (No aircraft / figures)
July - Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas in July & Open (Bring your kit from the Christmas party and any kit completed in 2025 & 2026.)*
August - Aircraft (Civilian & Military)
September - Open (Any kit completed in 2025 & 2026.)
October - Dioramas / Vignettes & Figures / Busts
November - The 1960s**
*For July's "Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas in July" theme, please bring your kit that you picked during the gift exchange at the Christmas party.
**For November's 'The 1960s' theme ideas - commercial/personal vehicles, military armor/aircraft/ships, Sci-Fi vehicles/spacecraft/creatures, figures of prominent people etc. that would have been seen from this decade. If it was in use in the 1960s...it counts.
